Owners
Mark and Regina Aubrey have had a long career in the ski industry. Regina’s began in 1975 when she took a leave of absence from teaching school in Calgary to spend a winter helping out at a friends snow cat skiing operation near Nelson, BC. That was the end of her teaching career – she moved full time to BC and guided with the operation for 10 years. Mark came as a guest in 1981 to the same operation and returned the following year as an employee. As co-workers, they realized their common love for the mountains and powder skiing. Recognizing the potential for world-class heli skiing in Mark’s home community of Crescent Spur, BC, they purchased the family farm there and began building their lodge and exploring the surrounding mountains. The first heli-ski guests were welcomed in 1992 – the upcoming 2009 season will mark 17 years of Crescent Spur Heli-Skiing!
While Mark continues to guide full time, Regina manages the lodge and business side. They live in Crescent Spur year round with their daughter Bryna.
Guiding Staff
Crescent Spur Heli-Skiing belongs to HeliCat Canada, a professional mechanized ski guiding association which has a mandatory set of operating guidelines, including guide qualifications. These guidelines describe the responsibilities of each classification of guides and the training and certification required.
At Crescent Spur we feel fortunate to have a group of individuals who bring a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences to our guiding team. These guides are highly trained and committed to their professions. Just as importantly, they love the mountains, skiing, and sharing these experiences with others.
Lodge Staff
We are very fortunate to have an incredible staff of dedicated, enthusiastic and professional individuals. Our house staff, bartender, chefs, and support staff all join together to make an effective team who work hard to ensure that guests have the very best holiday possible.
